No New Friends.

The last couple of days have been rough. Between packing, Kip wrapping up his job, and us saying way too many goodbyes to people we love, we are completely wiped.

We are now about six hours in to our flight to Perth by way of Dubai and I’m able to take a moment to breath. Well, I guess I have been relaxing for a few hours now, but I needed that time to properly enjoy the champagne and watch a couple of movies.

While we are super excited about the upcoming six months in Perth, we’ve decided to enforce a No New Friends policy. Saying goodbye to our Cape Town friends was much too brutal to do all over again in six months.

Cape Town is a beautiful city surrounded by beautiful country. We enjoyed the views but the people are what we will miss the most. I take comfort knowing that we’ve made life-long friends here.

Taking a quick water/iphone break with Ronan and Karen on our Pipe Track hike around Table Mountain. Many of our favorite memories are with these two.

Fourth of July at the O’Rahilly’s. Ronan and Karen hosted us for an American Independence Day party. They bought sparklers, red, white and blue table wear and had a South African braai to help us celebrate. This night also marks the first time we met Jade and Mauro. Last night, saying goodbye to Kelly and Darren. Always such a good time with these two . Can't wait to see what the 4 of us get up to next!

I’ll post again once we are settled in Perth. We’re going to be in a hotel for a bit until we find a place to live but I don’t think it will take as long as it did in Cape Town. Now I know what I am doing and what to look for. House Hunters International, watch out!
