Franschhoek

Kip was off on Friday for yet another public holiday and we took full advantage by spending the weekend in the winelands. We took the hour drive to Franschhoek and checked in to La Residence. We knew about La Residence thanks to the beautiful book Trey and Whit gave us about South African wine farms. Kip noticed that it’s a favorite of Elton John’s and that was that, we were booking a room.

I am not going to get in to too much commentary as the pictures speak for themselves.

Friday night dinner at the chef's table at La Residence. Chef Lennard served us a fabulous meal and gave us a great list of his favorite local Cape Town restaurants.

One of two mini ponies on the property. This is Tango. We were told he is the nice one and his friend, Twist, is naughty.

Saturday's sunset from the porch. I was heard Friday's was much better but SOMEONE didn't inform me until after the fact.
